Présentation du produit

The Opto Isolator Kit hosts a serial DB25 opto isolator. An optical isolator is a device which is used to transfer an electrical signal between elements of a circuit while keeping them electrically isolated from each other. It helps in preventing damage to equipment from lightning surges, accidental high voltage shorts and ground loops. The opto Isolator provides 4000 Volts of isolation between sides and also maintains creep age and air clearances required for double or reinforced insulation. The two ends of the isolator are driven individually, which maintain isolation between them. This is accomplished for both ends by receiving power from the data and handshake lines, hence no external power is required in nearly all systems. In case the isolator is used with low power ports or where no handshake lines are available, the isolator can be powered using an external power supply. The external power supply can be given to either sides of the isolator. This flexible powering arrangement ensures that the a minimum number of supplies are required by the system. The Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) device connections are made through a DB-25 female and the Data Communication Equipment (DCE) device connections through a DB-25 male.
