Product Overview
The Programmed XT Control Board is a custom designed circuit board. This board is used on the XT suspension to detect the collimator switch and sensor conditions and control the XT locks and positioner cabinet input/output signals. The XT control board assembly is comprised of various components including resistors, capacitors, various rating fuses with holders, semiconductor diode, IC's and LEDs. The heart of the board operation is controlled in a MACH 110 programmable logic device. It is a high-density EE CMOS (Electrically Erasable Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) programmable logic 44 pin surface mount IC. The MACH 110 consists of two PAL blocks connected by a switch matrix. There are 32 I/O pins and 6 dedicated input pins feeding the switch matrix. These signals are distributed to the two PAL blocks for efficient design implementation. There are two clock pins that can also be used as dedicated inputs. Based on the input signals, the MACH 110 device control the outputs. The circuit board is made of FR-4, which is a composite material that consists of glass fabric and electrical grade epoxy resin. The material is extremely strong and stiff, has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and outstanding electrical properties. FR-4 is widely used as an insulator for electrical and electronic applications.
