Product Overview
The Scan Window Assembly uses a weather strip that is commonly used in many applications. They are made from an EPDM cellular rubber material. The outer side of the two steel bands are covered by applying the Lexan band with the double coated film tape. The band stainless steel provides good strength and ductility. Stainless steel type 301 exhibits a higher tensile strength and its melting range varies from 1399° C to 1421° C. The frosted side of the Lexan band should be faced outside. The cross hatched area around the scan window has to be transparent and free of abrasions and fingerprints. The Lexan bands are superior in dimensional stability and have improved light diffusion. These bands possess high temperature and chemical resistance. To form a butt joint, the Lexan band is trimmed. The gap should not exceed more than 0.25 mm. Applied foam is around the outer edges of the Lexan band and to connect the ends of the foam a small amount of RTV silicone (white or clear) is used. The double-coated film tape is a high performance tape coated on both the sides with an acrylic adhesive, which provides a high adhesive and strong holding power on many substrate types. It has an excellent tensile strength, durability and moisture resistance. The adhesive features a high initial adhesive tack and operates over a wide temperature service range. The shelf life of the adhesive is 12 months. The label should be positioned at the center, inside the surface of the steel band. A total of nine labels have to be mounted on a single base sheet. The label is text printed and white in color. The label shelf life is 6 years.
