Product Overview
The URP Radio Board is responsible for the ultra wideband radio communications to the URP host system. The board has a digital interface connector which contains the signals for SDIO communication to the URP motherboard processor as well as an interface for programming the external serial flash which stores the UWB radio SoC firmware. Additionally, the URP radio board has a Realtek RTU7105 radio SOC that is responsible for receiving commands via this SDIO interface or USB and transmitting information over a WiMedia compliant ultra wideband wireless link using the RF front end electronics populated on the radio board. The UWB radio board has a USB connection for use as a test interface. This board has four different types of connectors ; J1, RF_J2, J3 and J4. The URP radio board is designed to accept input power from either the J4 connector or the J3 USB connector and provide regulation to the 3 voltage rails internal to the board. The URP radio board shall be functionally tested to ensure functionality and performance of the Realtek UWB SoC and RF from end. The test fixture consists of a spectrum analyzer, programmable attenuator and a PC running automation software to quickly execute tests and generate a report. The UWB radio board may be shipped singly in a shipping container or in multiples by means of a larger shipping container. In both cases, the assembly should be protected from ESD hazards.
