Overview
This course is for Service Engineers who have level 3 skills in another modality and need to cross train into CT and develop CT Level 1 skills.The CT-MRTS Level 1 with MRTS Service Training is an Instructor led distance learning course using a simulated VCT system for students to complete lab activities.This training will equip field service engineers with the ability to identify, operate and perform planned maintenance at Level 1 on GE CT systems.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Identify the CT systems and their major components.
- Turn the system on/off and including Emergency Shutdown.
- Operate the CT system to create images of the water phantom.
- Open the error log and resolve minor problems.
- Perform basic Image Quality check.
- Perform Planned Maintenance schedule A, B and C on LightSpeed, Brivo and Optima systems.
Course Competencies:
1) Explore the main operative elements of CT Sub-systems
a) Safely access the interior of every major component VCT sub-systems
b) Identify essential hardware sub-components within the VCT sub-systems
c) Apply software commands within the VCT Operating System
2) Operate and Configure a CT System
a) Define medical terminology used by customers for prescribing CT scans
b) Execute Daily Preparation Procedures on the VCT system
c) Demonstrate Power and Scan Procedures on the VCT system
d) Navigate within the Common Service Desktop and access System Error Logs
3) Perform CT Essential Level Preventative Maintenance Tasks
a) Inspect, clean, and grease essential system components
b) Report System Compliance to qualified field service support
c) Replace slip ring brushes on a VCT to acceptance standards

Registration:
• All training must be taken within 24 months of purchase.
Attendance:
• Class start and end times vary. Please refer to email enrollment notification.
• Participants are required to arrive on time for class.
• A "no show" is not eligible for reimbursement.
• In order to receive certificate of completion for a course:
o Participants must attend the class in its entirety missing a day will disqualify you from receiving full credit
o Participants must pass the assessment administered at the end of the course
Cancellations:
Please carefully review our cancellation policy and how it applies to your cancellation. Should you wish to cancel your registration, we enforce a time sensitive policy. As you can appreciate, a cancelation with less than four weeks’ notice makes it very difficult for another student to plan on attending. If there is someone else in your organization that would like to attend in your place – this fee will not be charged. The cancelation policy is outlined below:
• Cancellations can be made by email to Ed.services@gehealthcare.com
• GE HealthCare may offer technical service training at GE HealthCare’s Institute, on-site at Customer’s facility, via virtual instructor-led trainings, or via online self-paced courses.
• Customer is responsible for registering for trainings conducted at GE HealthCare’s Institute and for virtual instructor-led trainings hosted through GE HealthCare’s Institute. Scheduled trainings at or hosted through GE HealthCare’s Institute that are cancelled or rescheduled by Customer:
(i) more than 4 weeks prior to the training start date, will result in no cancellation fee
(ii) up to 2 weeks prior to the training start date, will result in a cancellation fee of 50% of the training price
(iii) less than 2 weeks prior to the training start date and for no-shows (i.e., registered students who do not attend the training and do not cancel in advance of the training start date), will result in a cancellation fee of 100% of the training price.
• On-site trainings at Customer’s facility and virtual instructor-led trainings developed specifically for Customer will be scheduled by Customer and GE HealthCare on mutually agreed upon dates. Scheduled on-site trainings at Customer’s facility and virtual instructor-led trainings developed specifically for Customer that are cancelled or rescheduled by Customer will result in a cancellation fee of 100% of the training price, and Customer agrees to reimburse GE HealthCare for GE HealthCare’s incurred travel charges and expenses.
• Online self-paced courses cannot be cancelled or changed once access to the course has been granted to Customer.
• Trainings are subject to availability. GE HealthCare may cancel or reschedule trainings at any time. Certain licenses and/or applications may be required to attend technical service trainings and/or use technical service packages. Please contact GE Healthcare for more information.
Low Enrollment:
• GE reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment.
• Classes with low enrollment 15 business days prior to the scheduled date will be cancelled.
• When GE cancels a class, tuition will be refunded in full, or may be applied to the cost of another class scheduled to take place within 12 months of the original class.
